Chiken Sit on Eggs

"How do Chicken Sit on Eggs Without Clushing them"

Mother Hens do not sit on their eggs; they squat over them. Their legs bear most of their weight, and the nest provides enough support and insulation. This coupled with the chicken mom’s underside ensures that the eggs are safe, warm, and secure.

Another thing is the hen’s body structure. A chicken isn’t as round as one might think. Looking at its profile, one will observe that the underside is more V-shape than its round, like a boat with a rather pointy center. This pointy center is the breastbone, and the area around it is quite featherless. This allow for more heat to pass from the Mother’s body to her babies. Also, each side of this V-shape; for the reason that they are throughout like somewhat than produce, permit a chicken to sit on her eggs with out them end up omelets.

The Third Eye can be real? That’s the Forehead Retina System (FRS), the closest thing to what parapsychologists call to the third eye. For one thing, FRS is positional right on top the traditional location of the mystical eye, but unlike the visions the third eye is believed to be capable of perceiving, the FRS allows only the ordinary, mundane things to be sensed by the visually impaired. Using a special headband that stimulates different receptors in the forehead skin, the FRS enables visually impaired individuals “to see” what is in front of them, the FRS utilizes tactile sensations in the forehead to produce a mental picture of the outline of objects.

Floating the Dead Sea is Easy

Posted by BlackJack On Saturday, August 8, 2009 0 comments

When tourists bathe in the Dead Sea in Israel, they usually have a picture taken showing them floating in a near sitting situation and reading a newspaper to boot!

This is the cause why the Dead Sea is so famous. Floating on it is so easy, and it’s just about impossible for anybody to drown there! The Dead Sea on the other hand is far denser than seawater because of its extreme salinity. Normal seawater has 3 percent salt contents, but the Dead Sea has a stunning 30 percent salt content! This higher than standard density enables objects to float higher in the Dead Sea high enough for tourists to read a newspaper while have their picture taken!

Lotus Leaf

The Lotus leaf’s surface texture by dissolving a cheap, common-plastic called isotactic polypropylene or iPP, dropping the way out onto glass, and at that time evaporating the solvents. This produced a plastic film that “resembles at the bird’s nest made of branched and intermingled sticks and bumps” And just like a lotus leaf, the plastic covering repel water by forcing it to form beads that easily roll off.

Termites Are Not Just Pest

Termites belong to a group of social insects that feed on cellulose, base matter as a plants, paper, and wood. Termites are of extreme ecological, biological, and economic importance. They perform a crucial role in the recycling of nutrients, habitat creation, and development of soil quality in addition to being a food source for an indeterminate number of predators.

But because termites love munching on wood, common building and furniture material, they are considered pests and are exterminated in huge numbers every year. These insects also release a substantial quantity of methane gas- 4 percent of the total methane emitted into the atmosphere. With global warming as the most pressing environment issue confront insects to many humans, moreover several people locate termite-built structure repugnant, even those that are built comfortably far from their houses.

Butterfly Wings

Taking their from a vivid blue butterfly (Morpho sulkowskyi). They noticed that the surface micro texture of the butterfly wings repels water and the same time diffracts light that gives the wings an iridescent color.

The Japanese coating mimics the butterfly’s technique not only does it repel water, but it also comes in different colors too. They made the coating by assembling a film composed of 6 nanometer wide silica particles and several hundred micrometer wide polystyrene spheres. They then evaporated the polystyrene by heating the film, leaving the silica nanoparticles with gaps in between. They now rough surface was then coated with a commercially available water proofing compound called flouroalkylsilane and viola! A super hydrophobic coating was born. The flouroalkylsilanes waterproofing ability was further enhanced by rough surface of the film. And but tweaking the spaces between the gaps in the silica nanoparticles.

They Hate Water

Posted by BlackJack On 0 comments

We all know that certain plants and animals are naturally water repellent. If you spatter a drop of water on the leaf of a gabi plant (taro), you will see that the water forms itself into a compact globule that easily slides off the leaf. The gabi leaf is naturally water repellent, water rolls easily off this surface or just bounces back open impact.

The natural water repellency that certain plants and animals exhibits are now the subject of extreme study by scientists. Taking their inspiration from nature, science is now developing synthetic coatings with super hydrophobic abilities.
You would think that a water repellent material would have to be as smooth as possible to slough off water. But it turns out that the opposite is true. For a material to exhibit super hydrophobic qualities, it must have a microscopically rough surface. The rough surface prevent the water from flattening, so it forms into beads that roll off; the beads often carry dirt with them

What Sleep Start's

Posted by BlackJack On 0 comments

What you experienced is called a sleep start, a sudden and often times violent jerking of the body, usually of the arms and legs that occurs as you are falling sleep. Sleep starts also goes by the names hypnic or (hypnagogic jerk) and sleep jerk. The sleep start is a natural step in the body muscular transition from alertness to sleep. Our body goes through some physiological changes as we drift off to sleep. Our breathing rate and temperature may change as does our muscle tone.

There’s a point which our muscles completely relax and our brain interrupts this relaxation as a sign of falling down. So the brain tells the arm and legs to tense up keep us upright, but since were already in the horizontal position, that command is executed as the sudden jerking of our arms and legs. Some people many punch or kick their bedmate without being aware of it.

Sleep doctors agree that sleep starts are fairly common, have no medical significance and are nothing to worry about. However if the episodes are intense, frequent, and cause loss of sleep or fear of falling asleep, then medical help should be sought before insomnia sets in.

The Beetle

Posted by BlackJack On Sunday, August 2, 2009 0 comments

The Namib desert beetle is unique, because it uses its super hydrophobic exoskeleton to called water directly from the moisture in the air. The Massachusetts Institute of Technology mimicked the beetle trick by developing a coating made of silicon Nan particles. The trick in making a microscopically rough surface. The researchers did this by using polyelectrolyte multilayer eight to 20 alternating layers of silicon Nan particles and polyallylamine hydrochloride and then including the silicon to aggregate.
The super hydrophilic effects was achieved when nanoparticles in the coating attracted water droplets and forced them to form smaller contact angles with the surface. So instead of beading, they flattened and merged to form a uniform transparent sheet. By forcing water to spread in a uniform sheet, fogging is prevented, thus making the application useful fir goggles and windows.
The researchers then went one step further by combining both hydrophobic and hydrophilic regions in the same surface. As a result, they came up with a surface with hydrophilic regions that get together water that other wise would not condense, in the same way that the Namib Desert beetle collect hose down to drink.

Fish Scales on your Lips

One bit of trivia that has been making the rounds of e-mail is that lipstick purportedly contains fish scales. This may be one bit of trivia that does have factual basics. “Pearl Essence”, the silvery stuff found in fish scales is the ingredients that used in lipstick because it lends a shimmer glow to the lips. It also used in nail polishes and ceramic glazes for precisely the same reason. Pearl Essence comes mainly from hearing, and is one of the many by products of large scale commercial, shallow waters of the North Atlantic. Synthetic version of pearl essence have already been developed, but it is not yet known to what synthetic substitutes for fish scales are mica or silica particle and bismuth oxychloride, a synthetic pearl that imports frost or shine. Manufactures have also added such ingredients as moisturizers, Vitamin E, aloe Vera, collagen, amino acids and sunscreen to lipstick in order to keep the mouth soft, wet, and sheltered from the elements.

Health expressed strongly that the present perception of milk as harmful, that it increase cardiovascular risk, should be challenged, and every effort should be made to restore milk to its rightful place in a healthy diet. They involved of 665 men in between 45 and 49 years old. The respondents were first evaluated from 1979 to 1983. After recording their weight and food intake for seven days, the respondents were monitored for 20 years to access any incidence of cardiovascular episodes.
Result revealed that the men, whose intake was at or above the average level of 187 milliliters per a day, were 48 percent less possible to suffer a stroke and 12 percent less probable to have a heart attack than men who drink lesser amounts of milk. However warned that more study is needed to fully understand the association between milk intake and the risk of cardiovascular events. They added that for suck study to be conclusive, it will require more than 20,000 respondents. The most challenging part of the amount of milk on the other extended for a period for five years.
