Gonzaga University Bulldogs NCAA Basketball Tournament

The No. 8 ranked Gonzaga University Bulldogs beat the No. 9 Florida State Seminoles 67-60 Friday in the preliminary round of the NCAA Basketball Tournament 2010.

The NCAA bracket update is as follows. Gonzaga moves on to the second round in the West Region and will play No. 1 seed Syracuse or No. 16 Vermont.

Gonzaga had four players crank out at least 10 points, led by Matt Bouldin's 17 points with eight rebounds. Steven Gray added 15 points and eight boards for the Bulldog

Gonzaga University won against Florida State in the NCAA Basketball Tournament 2010.

Gonzaga Bulldogs finished the game with the score of 67 points while Florida State Seminoles only got 60 points.

Gonzaga’s Matt Bouldin comes out as the top performer of the game with 17 points, eight rebounds, three assists and three steals.

Derwin Kitchen contributed seven points, four rebounds, six assists and four steals for the Seminoles.


Wofford College NCAA

The scoring  during the second half of the game did not stop Wofford College to defeat Appalachian St, 56-51, Monday night and earn its first ever NCAA berth.Wofford College, popular in the sports community as the home of the Carolina Panthers’ training camp, snatched its 13th straight win despite being scoreless for almost 10 minutes during the game.Tim Johnson grabbed 13 rebounds for the Terriers, who are now at 26-8.

The Appalachian State Mountaineers dropped to 22-12, with Andrew Williamson and Ryann Abraham scoring 12 and 11 points, respectively. the team’s top scorers, Kellen Brand and Donald Sims, made a combined 2 out of 23 field goals.Forward Noah Dahlman of Wofford College, who contributed 10 points and 8 rebounds, was given the tournament MVP award.

Wofford College lost to Wisconsin Friday during Round 1, Day 2 of 2010 March Madness! They were close with a tie, a nearly a minute left in the game, but the end result was Wofford Univeristy losing 53-49. The Wofford Terriers were down at the half by 8 points, but had impressive control of the game during the final minutes. The number #13 proved no match for #4 Wisconsin, and will have to wait until next year to strut their stuff on the court.
Wofford ended the season on a high note, with their most basketball wins ever in the history of the school. They bow out of the NCAA Tournament 2010 with a record 26-9 wins, and ranking 24-8 overall. The Wisconsin Badgers were led by John Leuer with 20 points, and will go on to play Cornell in Sunday’s Round 2 game.


Alex Chilton

Alex Chilton, singer and guitarist of Big Star, one of the most influential rock groups to emerge from the early 1970s, has passed away at the age of 59. Chilton reportedly suffered a heart attack today in New Orleans, just days before Big Star were scheduled to perform at the SXSW Festival in Austin, Texas. Chilton had been complaining about his health earlier in the day, and was eventually taken to a New Orleans hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Big Star drummer Jody Stephens confirmed Chilton’s passing, Memphis

The 16-year-old boy who led the Box Tops to the top of the charts with 1967’s “The Letter” (”Give me a ticket for an aeroplane, ain’t got time to take a fast train”) and grew into the founder of the incomparably influential Big Star was no more. It hit especially hard in Austin where the reformed Big Star was to play the final set of the final night of South By Southwest 2010.

The Planet Solar is entirely powered by up to 500 square metres of photovoltaic solar panels, and the panels are made up of 38,000 photovoltaic cell.
