Seattle Weather Forecasts morning has alerts for snow, wind and ice, according to The Seattle Times. Some areas will receive snow of up to three inches. The Meteorologist Dennis D'Amico of the National Weather Service says that the Seattle metropolitan area will see snow from one to three inches, low temperatures in the "teens" and winds of up to twenty-five miles an hour.

Seattle Public Schools elected to send Middle and High School Students home early Monday, rather than wait for temperatures to drop and more snow to fall.

Elementary schools were already closed for the day due to winter weather and snow throughout the greater Seattle area. Middle and high school students were dismissed at 12:35 p.m. All after-school activities were canceled.

The weather is expected to worsen Monday evening, with more snow showers expected to continue dusting the region. Snow is expected to fall heaviest south of Seattle.

However, temperatures are supposed to rapidly plummet, causing snow or slush-covered streets to turn to sheets of ice. Many Seattle students ride public transit to get to school, causing long lines of students waiting at bus stops
